AFTRAns say "YES" to games contract After months of attempting to synchronize AFTRA and SAG's interactive contracts, the negotiating committee, the Executive Committee and the AFTRA National Board all endorsed the proposed pact. Sent to the affected membership for ratification, the deal passed 2 to 1. SAG's Hollywood meetings were extremely contentious, leading to their defeat of the proposed contract. SAG must return to the table to try to bargain a new deal. AFTRA's new contract will expire March, 2011. Already a contract with higher rates and higher H&R contributions, the new deal will include protections for vocally stressful work and a section to cover "atmospheric voices", a section we believe will expand union coverage in games and increase work done under the contract.
