AFTRA's 60th National Convention in Chicago

The picture says it all.  AFTRA's 60th was a mouthful.  250+ delegates from around the country gathered for three days of hard work, extended meetings, and yes...some fun, too.

If you want to know how hard AFTRA has been working on members' behalf over the past two years, listen to
the report from National Exec Kim Roberts Hedgpeth.  You'll never wonder again about how much bang you get for every AFTRA dues dollar.

Listen to
the report from National President Roberta Reardon about what AFTRA's plans are for the future, why "organizing" is AFTRA's job 1, and how, as a union, AFTRA gets its wide-ranging work done.  It is a report about a union energized, engaged and preparing to meet our digital future.

Take a look at the long list of convention actions in support of everything from performance rights for radio to strategic cooperation with Actors' Equity Association to support for the Employment Non-Discrimination Act and the Employee Free Choice Act.

Don't forget to listen to President Obama's video address to the convention.  Take a look at the AFL-CIOs Sec'y/Treasurer Rich Trumka officially presenting AFTRA with its member charter.  And then click the burger to see a few pictures from convention - New York delegates at work and socializing beneath the Chicago skyline.

We are, quite frankly, proud of the work AFTRA has done since the last convention.  We continue to work to shape the future of AFTRA to make certain that as many jobs of the digital age as possible will have a union contract attached to them.
